On Rangalifinolhi Island, the 35 beach villas feature up to 150-square metres of indoor/outdoor living space; the 44 deluxe beach villas are double that size with their own plunge pools, whilst the 21 spa water villas, affiliated to the new Spa Retreat, even boast their own treatment rooms. On Rangali Island, the water villas feature sun decks with lagoon access, whilst the superior and deluxe water villas also have Jacuzzis on their sundecks. Yet it is the 2-bedroom Sunset Water Villas that rank as the pinnacle of luxury complete with their glass-floored sitting areas, circular rotating beds and the round-the-clock private butlers. Flat-screen TVs and I-pod connections have recently been introduced in all the villas as part of a $35 million upgrade.

Guests can also enjoy a wide variety of different culinary experiences here: the buffets of the sand-floored Atoll Market and the Japanese Tepanyaki cuisine of the beachfront Koko Grill complemented by the Euro-Asian specialities of the water’s edge Vilu Restaurant, the five-course degustation dinners of the underground Wine Cellar and the over-water dining of the Sunset Grill. And if that’s not enough for you, there’s also the intimate (and famous!) Ithaa Undersea Restaurant located five metres below sea level. Here you can enjoy Maldivian-Western fusion cuisine whilst marvelling at the 360
degree views of reef and marine life.
