The ten spacious Nicobari Cottages and eight Andaman Villas are scattered amongst tropical foliage and connected by winding pathways. All are constructed from natural, regenerable materials and raised on stilts.

The simpler, fan-cooled Nicobari Cottages are the more 'indigenous', with bamboo matting walls, local hardwood floors and palm thatch roofs. Interiors are spacious (350 sq. feet) and comfy, with Balinese teak beds (netted four-posters or twins), soft furnishings from Amara and ensuite bathrooms with hot showers.

The Duplex Cottage is ideal for families or honeymooners, with a mezzanine level bedroom and bathroom, and an upper level day-room open on three sides to the rainforest.

The newer, air-conditioned Andaman Villas are squarer in construction, with wood-shingled roofs and walls of Indonesian hardwood (carefully chosen to match endemic species). Interiors are more contemporary, with wide netted beds and large floor-to-ceiling windows behind sliding shutters.

The main menu at Barefoot at Havelock is listed with fixed continental and Indian specialties prepared and cooked out of organically grown ingredients and fresh sea foods. Angling enthusiasts can also have the opportunity to bring in and feast on their fresh catch of the day.

Whilst staying here guests are encouraged to talk to the staff about the many exciting outdoor activities that are on offer such as snorkelling, diving, fishing, kayaking, trekking, elephant rides and more. The island vibe makes for a very relaxed staff so you need to be pro-active in arranging these activities. A fantastic way to begin your day is with a rejuvenating yoga class in an open air pavilion on the high hills. Take an escorted nature walk through the dense rainforests sighting various colourful birds and insects, including many other spectacular wild inhabitants of the area, or go discover the fascinating world of coral reefs.

Whilst we assure all our customers of great service there are some parts of the world where tourism is in its' infancy, or better still - just minimal because of size. Barefoot at Havelock is one of those special places, where you will get a great deal out of your holiday. It does not have any star rating; there are no modern day electrical items, just barefoot heaven and a place to savour. Only for the adventurous and those who are not too demanding of modern luxury on their holiday.
