FBV offers two distinct lodging options. Stay in a cozy seaside cottage or spread out in a spacious two-bedroom villa.

Cottages

Perfect for couples, each cottage comfortably accommodates two people. All cottages are air conditioned, although their native stone and tile construction keeps then naturally cool. They feature open patios with picturesque views of the beach just a few sandy steps away. Experience the tranquility of showering in garden baths featuring island plants for a lush, tropical atmosphere.
Daily maid service is included, along with your own patio chairs, beach towels, sun umbrellas, and a float.

Accommodations – Villas

Bring the entire family or split the cost of accommodations among friends. Villas offer additional independence and flexibility for visitors, as they are equipped for full housekeeping including a kitchen, utensils and linens. Spread out among the property, the villas also offer additional privacy and a more personal experience. All Villas have air conditioning in the master bedroom and feature a large, fully furnished living room. Garden baths with lush tropical plants create a unique venue to refresh and rejuvenate daily. A large, open patio offers unob structed views overlooking the bay.

Meals at Fernandez Bay Village have such a reputation for taste and ambiance, they attract boaters and private pilots from throughout the Bahamas and South Florida. Served buffet style guests come early to mix and mingle at the tiki-bar.

There’s always a stalk of bananas hanging around or seasonal mangoes, papaya, watermelon, tomatoes and limes filling the fruit basket for a quick snack. Dinners are relaxed candle lit affairs on the beach terrace around a blazing bonfire. Shoes are not part of the dress code. And the beachfront tiki-bar runs on the honour system where guests keep track of their own tab.

For those who want to do more than just relax by the beach, there’s a wide variety of activities to choose from. Here are just a few.

Snorkeling

Snorkeling is an underwater sightseeing adventure anyone can enjoy. By land or by water, there are many snorkel spots easily accessible from Fernandez Bay.

SCUBA Diving

Cat Island has some of the best SCUBA diving anywhere in the world! From spectacular reef dives around massive coral heads to vertical walls that drop off into the abyss – it’s all here.

Bonefishing

Catch a personal best, or even a world record. Cat Island flats are teaming with some of the Caribbeans fattest Bonefish. Mark Keasler, resident fishing guide, has a reputation for patience and a keen intuition for finding, and catching the elusive bonefish.

Offshore Fishing

Not available year round, Offshore Fishing is seasonal and can be arranged through our resident guide, Mark Keasler. During the winter months through early summer, Cat Island hosts some of the most prized game fish this world has to offer.
Offshore excursions require full day trips, but “short day” kid trips to local reefs are available for little anglers.

Kayaking

If you’ve never salt water kayaked before – this is the place to learn.FBV has one and two person kayaks for you to choose from.
Boating
Thirteen foot Boston Whalers can be rented without a captain for exploring nearby beaches.

Sightseeing

Explore Cat Islands countless remote beaches, caves and abandonded plantations for a true and unique taste of what the island has to offer.

Cat Island is a place that begs to be explored. Unspoiled white sand beaches, lush vegetation and friendly people abound on this southern Bahamian Island. Laid back and unhurried, Cat stretches for 50 miles from the north to the south, and is surrounded with white sand beaches, coconut palms and smiling faces.

We recommend renting a car if you really want to explore. Yet, for more leisurely excursions to the adjacent areas, a bike ride is probably the way to go.
