You will be welcomed by your local professional guide and transferred to your hotel before commencing your trip in Siem Reap. This city is the base for exploring the fabled temples of Angkor, the ancient capital of the Khmer empire. On arrival, you will begin a tour of the temples that includes the early-Angkor era temples of the Roluos Group - Preah Ko, Ba Kong and Lo Lei. In the afternoon, you will continue to the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the famous Bayon, the Terrace of Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King. Spend the morning on an extensive tour of the magnificent 12th century Angkor Wat. In the afternoon, continue to Srah Srang, Banteay Kdei, the fabulous Ta Prohm Temple, embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers and the small twin temples of Chau Say Tevoda and Thommanon. To cap off the ancient empire tour today, you can pick up other tours: a tour of the Big Circuit comprising Pre Rup, East Mebon, Neak Poan and Preah Khan, a visit to the workshops of Artisans d'Angkor to see wood and stone carving, a browse for souvenirs or a boat trip on Tonle Sap Lake (which is best from July to February) before transferring you to Siem Reap airport for your departure flight.
