The Beach House at Manafaru sits at the most northerly tip of the Maldives, in the pristine, lagoon-ringed Haa Alifu Atoll, little explored by foreigners and totally un-polluted by the noise of passing speedboats. What many people don’t know is that that further north you go, the more lush and green the islands become. So while Manafaru is fringed by those exquisite, powder-white beaches for which the Maldives are famous, it also has a jungle-filled interior ripe for exploration.

On touching down at Male International Airport, a Beach House representative will be there to greet you. They will escort you to your domestic transfer, a 45-minute plane-hop over a turquoise Indian Ocean scattered with tiny jewel-like islands, followed by a 45-minute speedboat ride to your private island idyll.

Your home will be one of sixty-eight beautifully-designed contemporary thatched villas, each with its own private pool, a butler to attend to your every whim and the latest in modern technology, including i-pod hook-up, high-speed internet and email and LCD TVs.

Each villa is a celebration of sleek, contemporary Maldivian architecture, where floor to ceiling doors open out onto your spacious deck, blurring the boundary between in-and-outdoor spheres. All have an outdoor dining area, open-air bathroom with Philippe Starck fittings and private pool. Each category also has its own unique characteristics, for example those over-water have glass-paneled floors and those on the beach, private beach cabanas.

The Beach House at Manafaru is more than happy to accommodate children and its villas are ideal for family groups with extra day beds and bunk beds readily available. All have butlers at hand to make a cup of tea, recommend snorkeling sites or unpack suitcases.

Dining at the Beach House is all about delicious, fresh, creative, organic food served in a series of gorgeous, inspiring settings. With three different gourmet restaurants, even the most serious gourmet will not be short on inspiration. And every dish at every restaurant is a work of art.

‘Shui’ is South-East Asian for ‘water’ or ‘running water’, embodying the spa’s organic, flowing philosophy which is centred on the eternal cycle of water that is all around us – the essence of life itself and the element that links the human body with the natural world.

Surrounded only by gentle white shores, tropical life and nature, Shui represents a spa sensibility that is both pure and personal.

It’s a myth that there’s not enough to do in the Maldives. Agreed, it is easy to do absolutely nothing but there is also a wealth of things to do should you want to.

At the Beach House there’s a high-tech gym, outdoor badminton, two tennis courts, beach volleyball, pool and billiards tables, table tennis, two large communal swimming pools and both a PADI diving school and water sports centre.

There are few better places in the world to dive, snorkel or enjoy other water sports. Sea life here is nothing short of astonishing and even the most experienced divers will find underwater excursions a treat.

While swimming and snorkeling right from the beach is an exhilarating experience, those keen for exploration a little further afield will not be disappointed. From the close at hand, colorful House Reef to the Weeping Eye, a beautiful dive site a 25- minute boat ride away, there are hundreds of different underwater experiences to enjoy.

We want to keep everyone happy and to allow guests of all ages to enjoy an unforgettable holiday. Our kid’s club has its own private pool, a games room and an extensive activity programs including turtle monitoring during the nesting season.

Babysitting services are provided for children above 3 years old.

Turtle Kids Club operates from 9 am until 6 pm.

Turtle Club accepts children aged 3 to 12 years. Children below 3 years old need to be accompanied by one of the parents.
