Game drives at Blaauwbosch private game reserve are led by professional rangers. The rangers have extensive big five game knowledge, which means you are likely to view lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, rhino, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, antelope, abundant birdlife and rare flora on our game drives. This is a birdwatchers paradise and binoculars are trained to spot rare specimens amongst the abundant birdlife.
The latest exciting project for the reserve is the introduction of cheetah. Visitors to the private game reserve are also treated to one of Blaauwbosch's specialties - an African wildlife "walk and stalk" safari. This exciting safari involves the shadowing of the fastest of all land hunters, the cheetah, as it stalks its prey.

Hlosi Game Lodge invites you to share understated luxury, to warm to true African hospitality, and find a restful intimacy in the Eastern Cape bushveld. Here elephant herds line the horizon and cheetah settle silently in the long grass. The owners’ enthusiasm is a celebration of the African bush, of conservation, of food, of life. The Lodge is situated in the magnificent Amakhala Game Reserve, just a 40 minute drive from the Eastern Cape coastal city of Port Elizabeth in the heart of malaria-free game country adjacent to the famous Garden Route.

Kwandwe Private Game Reserve lies in the heart of South Africa’s malaria-free Eastern Cape near Grahamstown, and is a natural conclusion to a journey along the world-famous Garden Route. A victory for far-sighted conservation, 20 000 hectares (49 000 acres) of farmland in the Great Fish River region were restored and restocked with African wildlife. Today, thousands of animals including lion, black and white rhino, buffalo and elephant roam this diverse and fascinating reserve.

We particularly like the Ecca Lodge. Innovative, stylish and intimate, Kwandwe Ecca Lodge embodies a “funk-meets-futuristic-farmhouse” ambience, and features just six intimate suites, each with an en suite bathroom. The Lodge is airy and open with barely a barrier between indoors and the African bushveld.
