It is perfectly situated to travel out to the wine estates for tours of delightful cellars and to view the impressive Cape Dutch architecture. •

About Tanda Tula Safari Camp

With a handful of visitors and a vehicle density of less than one per square mile, the words 'private', 'secluded' and 'tranquil' best describe a stay at Tanda Tula Safari Camp. Renowned as one of the most luxurious tented safari camps in South Africa, Tanda Tula has the run of 20 000 acres of bushveld adjacent to the Kruger National Park. As one of the oldest camps in the Kruger the rangers are trained and experienced at the highest standards meaning you get the most out of your twice-daily drives. The camp is based just next to a river bed where you can sit on your private balcony and marvel at the array of animals that stroll past.

Tanda Tula accommodation

Each tented suite at Tanda Tula Timbavati Game Reserve accommodation has its own private timber decks overlooking the riverbed. There are en-suite bathrooms with Victorian baths and outside showers, as well as standing fans and mosquito nets. • If you are seeking exclusivity in your Timbavati Game Reserve accommodation, you may be interested in the Tandala thatched suite with its own pool, personal cook, ranger and game-viewing vehicle. •

For the more adventurous, sleep outs can be arranged at the hide overlooking the waterhole at Tanda Tula's Timbavati Game Reserve accommodation.

Activities at Tanda Tula

Daily activities include 2 game drives and bush walks. Safaris in the Timbavati are conducted either on foot or in open-sided game-viewing vehicles. Guests can expect to see lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and other general game on game drives. As well as exciting bird watching. Wildlife activities here enable guests to 'touch, taste and smell' Africa. • Your day begins with a game drive of approximately four hours, accompanied by a qualified ranger and tracker. Guests not only get close to Big Game but also learn to identify birds and trees, taste edible fruit, follow in the footsteps of animals great and small and learn about local bush lore. Become one with the bush as you track silently after the spoor of wildlife during game drives. • The night game viewing is an experience of its own. Nocturnal sightings might include bush babies, the elusive genet, or predators hunting and stalking their prey. •
You can also arrange to eat meals in the Bush. • There is a lovely pool to cap off a great day.

Additional note

Tanda Tula really is, in our opinion, a fabulous Camp. Tanda Tula has been visited by several members of our research team and all are unanimous that this is a place everyone must try and experience.
