Mozambicans are putting their shattering past behind them and rebuilding their beautiful country at a remarkable pace, encouraged by the travellers who visit. There's plenty to see in Mozambique, including the stunning beaches and islands of the archipelago, a World Heritage site, charming colonial architecture and colourful local cultures.

The beaches, swimming and snorkelling are sublime and the diving is memorably good.

The best times to visit are between May and November, when both rainfall and temperatures are at their lowest. It's also possible to travel during the early part of the warmer, rainy season from November to January (though be prepared for high temperatures, especially in January). Please book ahead for Christmas, Easter and the school holidays especially if you need family rooms - experience has taught us not to dilly-dally with this destination.
