Blue Lizard Travel will advise you when you make a travel booking whether you will need a visa based on the assumption you carry a UK passport. If you have a different nationality and passport please advise us accordingly. For entry into most countries you will need at least 6 months validity left on your passport after your proposed departure date from that country. It is your responsibility to speak with your GP to discuss the best possible course of action regarding our advice. Your GP will obviously know more about your personal health than we ever could. It is a good idea to enquire about the recommendations as quickly as possible with your doctor as some immunisations are given over a course of weeks. In some featured countries only a certain amount of money is allowed in, and it is worth checking how much that is. We find it a good idea to travel with American Dollars which we change at our destination as we need it and credit cards to access more money and pay for larger sums. On trips down-under we take a couple of hundred pounds worth of currency and use cards to access money as we need it, or travellers cheques. The main rule is don't travel with all your cash for the whole holiday. Think about how you can avoid carrying lots of money. Losing your card is a whole lot less painful than losing cash. You can get currency in the airport or banks before you go. On arrival at your destination, regardless of time there is usually somewhere to exchange money in the airport and otherwise American Dollars are an international currency.

If you are going to a resort, men will probably need long trousers for evening dining, although rarely a tie and jacket and we will notify you if this is necessary. If you are dining indoors, the air-conditioning can often make the restaurants chilly, so be prepared. Children are usually smart but casual in the evening, boys do not need long trousers in restaurants. Breakfast and lunch are usually laid-back.

UV Sun-tops and hats are a very good idea and take out the tedium of repetitive sun-creaming. Sarongs have been indispensable on all our trips. Take all swimming aids that you require, plus extras regardless of how much room it takes up. This is the difference between lying down for a part of your holiday and reading, or letting children make their own fun in the pool.
